Hotel overview
766 reviews of Harrah's Lake Tahoe 'Classic old school Lake Tahoe swank. Breathtaking views of the mountains and lake from all rooms. Every room has two bathrooms, each with its own (circa 1960's) mini television set attached to the counter. 1067 reviews of Harvey's Lake Tahoe 'The Party's at Harvey's! This credo is a statement that Harvey's delivers time and time again. Live bands play throughout the night keeping the place energized. The poker room boasts over 30 tables and a variety of Texa's Hold'em games. Home of the World Series Poker Circuit Tour: June 6-19, 2006. (Harrah's Lake Tahoe also doesn't have 50-cent denomination Blazing 7's as I was informed by one of floor workers at the casino those machines were fazed out.) There are Blazing 7's in the casino but they're either penny slots or $1 multi-line slots.
Harrah's Lake Tahoe Hotel and Casino rises up behind its lakeside 'cousin' Harveys across the street, offering additional restaurants and facilities that nicely complement any stay in Lake Tahoe, whether at Harrah's or Harveys. (You can walk between the two properties by way of an underground passageway, or simply walk across the street.)
Located in Stateline, Harrah's Lake Tahoe Resort & Casino is in a national park, within a 5-minute drive of Campground by the Lake and Heavenly Ski Resort. This 4-star resort is 4.2 mi (6.8 km) from Zephyr Cove Beach and 8.6 mi (13.8 km) from Taylor Creek Visitor Center.
A small coed fitness center is available to all guests on a complimentary basis, but Reflections Spa requires an additional admittance charge – which used to be complimentary for Seven Stars cardholders and their guests. Seven Stars cardholders do get a 20 percent discount on services (see below).
Premium and Executive Rooms offer stunning views of Lake Tahoe and/or the surrounding Sierras. High-speed Internet access is dependable, and there are refrigerators in the Executive Rooms. Decor is pleasant and the rooms spacious.Casino overview
There is nothing particularly distinctive about Harrah's, and it features all the usual slots and table games. Complimentary drink service in the casino is relatively frequent; and dealers, slot attendants and servers all are extremely friendly and helpful.
Harrah's South Shore Room hosts groups representing rock, blues, country and classics, plus there is a nightclub, Peek. 'Lounge' acts perform periodically on the center stage behind the main casino bar.
Dining is where Harrah's really shines. Located on the top floor of Harrah's and offering spectacular views is Friday's Station Steak & Seafood Grill. Any confusion with the TGIFriday's chain is purely coincidental.
Formerly open 24 hours seven days a week, the American River Cafe is open 6:30 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. all other days. [Hours subject to change.]
Finally, the Forest Buffet, also located on the top floor, is considered the best buffet in Lake Tahoe. Even if you don't like buffets, go for breakfast or lunch and enjoy the view. The Highlander Bar at the buffet is a great place for drinks at sunset and also is open for late-night dining, 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. [Hours subject to change.] You'll also find table seating and video poker.
There is also a 'food court' which includes Fatburger and Thai Asian. NOTE: Neither Fatburger nor Thai Asian accepts Caesars Rewards Quick Rewards or comp slips.

Should you choose this for your Annual Retreat?
Lake Tahoe is an absolutely gorgeous place to be during any time of the year. But, remember that weather may make it difficult to get there during the winter, so plan accordingly. You will probably fly into Reno and take a limo or rent a car to get to Tahoe. Depending on what time your flight arrives, and your originating location, you may want to consider spending the night at Harrah's Reno before making the trek to Tahoe.
