Lauden introduced reporters Thursday to the Lady Luck Casino in Farmington, Fayette County.

“In the corner, you can see a small stage,” he continues, “and we’ll have music and entertainment for the people.”

Officials say 450 employees have been hired to man the 28 tables and prepare the food. The 35,000-square foot building was refurbished by Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc.

“It’s a category three casino, which is a resort amenities casino, which is different than the Meadows and the Rivers,” says Kevin O’Toole, executive director of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. “The Meadows has a harness race track, and they’re a category one casino. And the Rivers is a stand-alone casino, which is called a category two. The primary difference is that this casino is associated with a well-established resort, and it is limited in its size.”

Lady Luck includes the maximum 600 slot machines.

Now the casino must undergo two “test nights,” with the board observing. If they pass the tests, the new casino will open at noon on Monday.
